Week's 2nd suicide at County Jail

Friday, July 28, 2006
Chicago Sun-Times

Cook County Jail typically averages two suicides a year, but it's now had two in a week, including one Thursday morning. Both inmates used bed sheets to hang themselves in their cells, police said. Inmate Michael McAndrews, 47, was awaiting trial on a failure to register as a sex offender charge. Keith Aldridge, 26, of suburban Milwaukee, was awaiting trial on drug possession charges.
