WHAT: The Forest Preserves of Cook County is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for its newly remodeled General Headquarters building located at Cummings Square in River Forest. The renovations include a new lobby with an accessible entrance, elevator and reception area for visitors, as well as direct access to the Permits, Rentals and Concessions area as well as interior improvements for staff.

Exterior improvements also include updated wayfinding signs, landscaping and paving for visitors.

A tour of the facility and as well as a tour of the Cummings Square Nature Sanctuary which features a savanna and native prairie plants will occur after the ribbon cutting.

Guests as well as the public are also invited to enjoy a Forest Jams concert featuring Steckman Studio. Concert attendees can participate in group jam sessions, learn about making instruments from natural and recycled materials and enjoy a concert by local musicians.
