Crabtree Nature Center to Host Art in Nature Celebration

Event to include Art Making, Art Sales, Live Music, and Food

Crabtree Nature Center invites the public to the annual “Art in Nature” celebration to watch as up to forty artists display their painting skills while creating artworks that reflect the landscapes of the nature preserve. The event is free to attend, and will be hosted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10.

During “Art in Nature,” attendees can enjoy a variety of activities including watercolor instruction for adults, drawing and painting, sculpting with clay, and listening to live music. Throughout the event, attendees will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite piece. Additionally, visitors can view a large display of the artists’ past work, depicting local nature for sale throughout the event. Several of the paintings produced during the event will also be offered for sale during the award ceremony.

Crabtree Nature Center, located at 3 Stover Rd in Barrington Hills, is one of six Nature Centers operated by the Forest Preserves of Cook County, and offers a variety of art classes and other activities throughout the year.

For more information on the event or the Nature Center, contact Crabtree directly at 847-381-6592. A complete listing of all special events and programs is posted to the Forest Preserves’ events website at fpdcc.com/events with seasonal brochures that can be downloaded.
