As temperatures soar during an Excessive Heat Warning, cooling centers will be open across the Chicago area

A potentially dangerous heat wave is set to impact the Chicago area, and residents are being given plenty of options if they need a place to cool off.

When the temperatures rise to dangerous levels, it's important to stay safe and to know where you can escape the heat. Cooling centers will be open in Chicago and surrounding suburban counties:
