1st Installment 2019

The County will mail 2019 1st Installment tax bills this week. Remember that our tax year is one year prior to the calendar year. So in calendar 2020 we deal with tax year 2019.

The 1st Installment is a down payment against the full year property tax. We will not know the full 2019 tax amount until the 2nd Installment tax bill mails out in July, 2020.

The 1st Installment bill does not show the exemptions, or the property value, or the tax rate, or much else other than the amount, which is 55% of the full 2018 tax bill, and some pension information.

Taxpayers can pay their tax bill in person, by mail, or online at www.cookcountytreasurer.com. Don't pay the tax bill directly if your lender pays the bill through a property tax escrow account.

Those wishing to pay in person can do so at the Cook County Treasurer’s downtown office at 118 N. Clark Street or at any Chase Bank in Cook County.
